SSE-Riga Anniversary

The Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga) commenced its activities in 1994. The School is a joint venture between the Stockholm School of Economics (in Stockholm) and the Latvian Ministry of Education. Even though located in Riga, it serves not only Latvia, but also Estonia and Lithuania by offering a B.Sc. program in business and economics open to students from all three countries.

The School's 10th Anniversary will be celebrated throughout the fall with several different activities. The academic highlight of the celebration is the conference "International Business in Transition Economies - International Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Competitiveness in the Transforming and Enlarging Europe". Conferences have been an integral part at SSE Riga throughout its ten years of existence. The first international conference at SSE Riga took place in 1995, and was devoted to "Micro-level studies of Transition in the Baltic States". Since then SSE Riga has organized conferences in fields as diverse as Distance Learning, Human Development, Transition Economics, and the EU Accession.
