Modestas Gelbuda (PhD) is a research director at Centre for International Business and Economic Research (CIBER) in Vilnius, Lithuania. With his colleagues, he organised two international conferences International Business in Transition Economies. Recently, he has been a visiting scholar at Scancor Centre, Stanford University. Within EUDOKMA, he has been a Marie Curie Fellow at Uppsala University, Sweden. For his studies and research, Modestas has received several grants and awards from the Lithuanian Government, the European Commission and international companies. Most notable is a prestigious Tuborg Business Economics Prize from Carlsberg Breweries A/S. His interests are in knowledge management, globalisation of firms, and entrepreneurial and knowledge based theories of a firm as well as transformations in the transition economies in an economic sociological perspective.
